valentines day

Pink stuff

February 11, 2011

As mentioned in my cucumber heart post I am not a soppy person. I am however unashamed to admit that I love pink stuff. Not in a Jordan/My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding type way, just in a nice, pink, retro/country living type way. I couldn’t let Valentine’s Day go by without writing some form of post so thought I would share all the pink food and drink stuffs I love with you. Where an item isn’t available in pink I have included it anyway to demonstrate how nice it would look in the alternative colour…

I have these weighing scales, they have a great retro look about them. Imagine how much more awesome they would look in a matte pink colour. You can get them from John Lewis

I love bit of fizz. Even better than fizz is pink fizz. Hardy’s Crest Sparking Rose has my favourite colour of all pink booze related items. Ever so slightly pink and crisp, it’s deliciously light. Especially when you ‘accidentally’ drink it all in one go (not on my own of course).

Pink Lady apples are my favourite sort of apples. Granted they are the most expensive, but when you bite into that crisp, deliciously sweet piece of fruit you will glad you spent an extra 30p on 1 of your 5 a day. I always am.

As you may know, I love the packaging (and actual content) of Burts crisps. I always go for the firecracker lobster flavour when in the pub. Not just because the packaging is pink. These crisps don’t actually taste of fish, rather have a strong full flavour that is so, so moreish. If you have been put off from tasting these as the flavour has the word lobster in it, I insist you go out and purchase a packet immediately as you will be pleasantly surprised at how good they are.

I love this Le Creuset casserole dish. The only think it could benefit from is being more of a shade of pink, however the red really fits in with Le Creuset’s brand and colour scheme. You can’t have everything I guess and I do think this is a dream casserole dish for many.

And finally, no pink food and drink page would be complete without Percy Pigs. They need no explanation as one of our national obsessions. Food and drink pink page, done. I’m just off to M&S now…

I heart this cucumber…

February 9, 2011

I’m not generally a soppy person but I do think this heart chaped cucumber is pretty cool. In a novel way that makes a great visual, not in a romance-esque way of course. Because, quite frankly, there is nothing romantic about cucumbers. If a man brought this home for me he would be in serious trouble. Just in [...]
