I love crisps. I really do. If there had to be one food I would eat for the rest of my life it would be crisps. (Apart from freshly baked bread. And cheese. And chinese food). My friend and I would even go as far as to say that we are the connoisseurs of the crisp world. If our Mastermind subject was crisps brands and their flavours, we would destroy the competition. So imagine my excitement when the girl that sits next to me at work brought in a new brand that I have never heard of. And even more surprising, her mum bought them at Tesco (why haven’t I seen these before??)
Jackpots. Before I opened the crisps I knew they were going to be good with a name like this. They sound like jacket potatoes that have been in the oven for three hours with a thick crispy skin. Jackpots are a cross between the thickness of Kettle Chips and Tyrells, but with a great deal more flavour (even more flavour than Mature Cheddar and Onion Kettle Chips). And the combination of the above makes them my favourite crisp to date, which is an accolade let me tell you.
I could go on forever about how much flavour they had to them (although at times slightly too much, giving one a tad of an aftertaste). But I won’t. I will just advise you to taste these bad boys for yourself as you will never look back. I tried out the Cheese and Spring Onion flavour, and can’t wait to find out what other concoctions of flavours they have come up with. Jackpots don’t have a full website yet, but here is their ‘Coming Soon’ website for reference purposes http://www.jackpotscrisps.co.uk/ I haven’t seen them in my local supermarket yet but I sure as hell hope they are coming to a supermarket near me soon.
