Hotel Chocolat Extra Thick Egg. Aka the best easter ever when my dad produced this. (At £24 it's pricey but totally worth it).
Could someone please remind me. Not for a religious reason to be honest, I just fancied testing myself by giving up chocolate AND crisps. I actually gave both of these things up for lent a few years ago and remember the first week being the worst, and boy was I right. I work in food and drink PR you see and my daily job involves generally thinking about food and wine a great deal aswell as reading lots of magazines with yummy looking recipes in them, such this amazing chocolate covered popcorn (Delicious) and triple chocolate slab (Red Online). This is also not helped by the fact that we have a constant supply of chocolate in our office. So needless to say there has been several instants over the past few days where I have nearly broken into a sweat and ran towards the store cupboard mowing down everyone in my way including the printer, stacks of magazines and well… one can only imagine the chaos. And to make my need for chocolate even greater (clearly a sadist), I have spent the past few days dreaming of all the different types of chocolate I would like to eat, where I am in a fantasy land like the sweet one in Katy Perry’s California Girls video. But this time instead of sweets, choocolate is dripping from the sky and goods such as the ones scattered amongst my post of angst are omnipresent.
Next week I hope that my chocolate cravings will have significantly reduced, and then will come the time that I am craving crisps. This means that you can probably expect some form of desperate crisp based post the same time next week. Until then I suggest those of you who stupidly didn’t give up chocolate for lent head to the nearest shop and stuff your face with any form of chocolate as an ode to my pain.
LOVE these block bars from Thorntons. They just have such a wide variety of flavours covered, it really is impressive. And quite frankly, give me any form of praline based chocolate and I’m yours forever. If I won the lottery I would have a permanent supply of these Godiva truffles to hand (as well as a personal trainer to burn off the amount I would be consuming).
